• Lake trip with invited agency guests.

Cleaning up the lake:
Students from the local school (Gorge Road School) came along to the lake, at the invite of the group and helped with the "Clean-up Waituna" campaign. They had a great time and are keen for a repeat.

• Take Pride flyer produced and circulated to catchment landowners/managers.

• Presentation to Gorge Road School on Waituna. CD produced by DoC.

August
DOC funding:
The Landcare Group was able to make use of some funding from DOC and some labour from the YMCA to help construct a shadehouse which will enable groupmembers to grow native plants for use in riparian plantings.
• The Gorge Road School students enjoyed their earlier trip so much that they came back to the lake and surrounds for Clean Up NZ Week.August - Sustainable Farming flyer circulated.
• Field Day - Tile drains, fertiliser (Overseer) and soil conditions. Speakers - Ross Monoghan, Agresearch; Jane Ruddenclau, Ravensdown.

September
Potting up:
Landcare group members starting to pot up native plants in the new shadehouse (well, as it turns out one Landcare group member working and the rest watching!!!).
• Gorge Road School involved in Waituna event for Clean up NZ

November
• Construction of shade house by YMCA Conservation Corps. Funded by WWF, SDC & ES.
