October 2008 -- For the second year, WLG organised a photo competition held in conjunction with the Gorge Road School Pet Day in October.

The winner in the best Waituna photo section was Naomi Woutersen, Kapuka South, who had a well put together compilation of photos that reflected the nature of Waituna Lagoon and the surrounding wetland.
